I generally prefer to offer face-to-face lessons in my home, in order to be able to provide the best learning environment, though I am also happy to visit work premises or organise training sessions in other venues, particularly for group classes. These can be one-off sessions, or a series of lessons, based on the needs and objectives of the student(s).
If you do not live near enough my home, however, you may like to consider tailored online lessons. You may wish to consider these in any case, because they have many advantages over the traditional face-to-face teaching method.
Advantages of Online Lessons
The beauty of online lessons is the complete flexibility they offer. In the comfort of your own home, at hours which suit you, and which can vary from week to week, you progress at very much your own pace, in suggested sessions of an hour. (Shorter or longer lessons are also possible, depending on your preference and availability.)
I like to use different websites, interactive software and other resources, in order to enhance your online learning, and help you practise all 4 of the language skills (listening, speaking, writing and reading), through a combination of skype and the stimulating online virtual classroom of Webex. All you have to do as the student is to accept my email invitation, then create your own guest account and join me online.
These individual lessons are always tailored to your personal needs and to what you want to achieve from your lessons. You will receive on-going feedback and materials after each session.
The cost is typically cost £40 for an hour’s lesson, and there are always special offers available, particularly if you pay for several lessons in advance, so please do ask.
It would be helpful to have an idea of your current linguistic level, be that complete beginner, intermediate or advanced. Please click here for an explanation of the Common European framework for Languages which will help you assess your current ability. Don’t worry if you’re not sure - it’s just to give us a starting point and we will discuss it further before your lessons begin.
